Hi, I’m Natasha Scott-Reichel.
I’m one half of the podcast 2 Black Girls, 1 Rose. For a living, I watch TV shows — primarily reality dating shows — and talk about them with my bestie. Together with our podcast community, we attempt to uncover what we can learn about modern dating, love, and relationships from popular television shows like The Bachelor, Love Is Blind, Married At First Sight, The Ultimatum, and more.
Since launching our podcast in 2017, we’ve been named one of the 50 Best Podcasts to Listen to Right Now by TIME Magazine, featured on ABC’s documentary mini-series The Game Show Show and Lifetime’s Married at First Sight: Couples Couch, and highlighted by the Washington Post, the LA Times, and The Cut to name a few. We’ve interviewed the likes of Rachel Lindsay (The Bachelorette) and Zanab Jaffrey (Love Is Blind) and have built a vibrant Patreon community, Instagram following, and Facebook Group, featuring a self-run monthly book club, Secret Santa, and nationwide meetups.
What is The Nite Owl?
Outside of the podcast, I watch alot of TV and movies. I also love to write. I also love to stay up late, watch TV and movies, and write. I come from a long line of night owls; in my family, 3am is OUR golden hour. I get some of my best TV and movie watching, writing, journaling, self-reflecting, internet deep diving, online shopping, Pinteresting, Instagramming done during the wee hours. Wherever my mind takes me or whatever Netflix movie I wander across on a Wednesday at 2:43am is basically what I’ll write about here. The Nite Owl newsletter will occasionally include:
Personal essays: reflections and ruminations on whatever is on my mind at the moment
Movies I Watched Last Week: my thoughts, reviews, and recommendations
Gems From the Rabbithole: a handful of culture and lifestyle links — think: articles to read, podcast episodes to listen to, YouTube videos to watch, content creators to follow.
Each month, you can also join me for The Monthly Midnight Watch. I’ll choose a limited series for us to watch and at the end of the month, I’ll publish a podcast episode where I’ll dissect it to bits, maybe solo or maybe with a friend.
Your Support Means Everything!
I love TV, movies, writing, and all things media and culture consumption deep in my soul. For now, The Nite Owl is free of charge and available to everyone. If you’d like to support me and the newsletter financially, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription. Hope you enjoy the newsletter and thanks for supporting me in what I love to do!
